1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
¼ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and Parmesan (if using).
Slice the bread in half lengthwise.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves.
Place the bread on a baking tray, buttered side up.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the butter has melted and the bread is heated through.
For a crispier top, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching carefully so it doesn't burn.
Slice and serve warm.
Optional Variations
Cheesy garlic bread: Sprinkle 1–2 cups of shredded mozzarella over the butter before baking.
Herb garlic bread: Add chopped basil, oregano, or thyme to the butter mixture.
Spicy version: Mix in a pinch of red pepper flakes.
This garlic bread pairs well with pasta, soups, salads, or grilled dishes.
